Once a coaching inn, the Bear of Rodborough is now a welcoming site for the weary traveller. Care has been taken to retain the heritage of the building and at reception you can still see the bell that was once used to summon the innkeeper. Dating back to the 17th century, this former coaching inn has been transformed into a welcoming hotel with restored period features and lavish decor that pays tribute to the Arts & Crafts movement. Each bedroom has its own individual style and many have fine views of the 300 acres of stunning National Trust land that surrounds the hotel. Box Tree Restaurant The Box Tree Restaurant is renowned in the local area for the excellence of its food and the splendour of its surroundings featuring bare stone walls and original stone arches which frame the richly coloured fabrics of its decor and panaoramic views of the local countryside. Awarded an AA Red Rosette for the quality of its food and service, the Box Tree has a reputation as a centre of excellence for food and wine, difficult to surpass in the area. Having developed close links with local providers, the Box Tree Restaurant are able to source the finest in meats, fish, cheese, vegetables and fruit. These include the renowned Gloucestershire Old Spot pork, Hereford beef, Bibury trout and Cerney goat's cheese.
